Bookmatched Top	With resawing & bookmatching the top panel, came the brown feather. Knowing Catawba Valley Walnut's sap wood to have a reddish brown tint similar to the local cherry, the edge of the top board, where it made the transition from heartwood to sapwood, was carefully trimmed, so when the bookmatch was made, the 'feather' was filled with the reddish brown.
The chest lining was to be the local cherry. The brown feather linked the two woods with a subtle color match.
